Sex, money & lies

Studies show people think about money more than any other thing in their lives. Sex comes in second place with most people giving it their attention at least five times per day.  It’s safe to say; we’re mildly obsessed with money and sex.  Some of us more than others.  😊 As with any hot topic, there are bound to be lies.  Here are a few I’ve learned about money and sex:

·        Women are after men with money -   Eh. I know plenty women who are with broke men.  I know even more women who make more than their man.  No doubt there are gold diggers out there (men and women), but it’s not the main objective.  I think women care more about how they’re treated.

·        Good sex will keep a man – Good sex will keep a man coming back, but it won’t make him faithful.  Faithfulness is a character trait.  You either have good character or you don’t. 

·        Credit cards and credit debt are bad – Wealthy people live on credit.  Jay-Z and Beyonce purchased a home for $88 million.  They certainly have enough money to buy the house with cash, but they took a mortgage.  They leveraged their credit to build more wealth.  You can’t do very much in this world without good credit. Credit cards when used properly are a great asset.

·        Threesomes will save a relationship – Ugh.  They say this is every man’s fantasy.  Maybe some women too. This will not save a relationship. It may prolong it or make it interesting, but threesomes are not relationship glue.  Don’t let anyone talk you into something you don’t want.

·        You need money to make money – I started my business with my credit card, paid it back and am now working off the profit.  I did not use cash. 

·        Sex on the first date makes you a hoe – I know a woman who had sex on the first date and just celebrated 15 years of marriage. Always put safety first. As adults we are free to express sexuality as far as we are comfortable.  I always wonder why men aren’t looked down upon for the same expression??

·        People with designer labels have a lot of money – You would think this is true, often it isn’t.  You can find designer labels thrifting or on sale.  It’s hard to find a woman who doesn’t own at least one expensive designer handbag.  I’m one of them and I’m far from wealthy.  Keep in mind, a lot of us have these bags with no money in them.

·        Sex with your partner will get better with time – Not necessarily.  You need to speak up.  Be honest about what you like and what you want.

·        Your children must build their own credit – If you have good credit, you can add your child as a user and their credit will build with yours.

·        Masturbation is a sin – It is not.  Argue amongst yourselves.

·        Having more money will solve all your problems – More money may be helpful. There are a lot of miserable millionaires.  Happiness comes from within.  

·        He had sex with me, he must have feelings for me – Men are wired differently (and some women too).  He can enjoy having sex with you without any natural affection attached to the act.
